About Gillis Architects

Ralph Gillis, AIA, Principal and founder of Gillis Architects, began his career in Austin, Texas, where he attended the University of Texas. He then moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he was mentored by Alexander Girard. Ralph has been a licensed architect since 1972 and among his many professional accomplishments and affiliations, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, the Partnership for New York City and has served as a member of the Mayor’s Council of Architects.

He is integrally involved with all GA projects, working closely with clients and his staff. His primary responsibilities include maintaining concept and design criteria and quality controls. Ralph is one of a select number of American architects to recognize and offer his clients, in the U.S. and abroad, the benefits of BIM technology. He is married and has a young son, who keeps him on his toes.
